TUDOR CITY ART: Nick Tankard
Introducing Nick Tankard, a contemporary British illustrator specializing in fine-line pen illustrations executed in a cross-hatch style. His drawings are both whimsical and fantastical, somewhat in the vein of artist Maurice Sendak.
His latest work includes a rendition of the enclave, above. Entitled Tudor City, New York, it was made in 2016, most likely from a photograph ‒ the Con Edison smokestacks at top right were razed in 2007.
Check out Tankard's great website ‒ where you can buy this drawing, framed, for £695 ‒ here.
